The 2016 National Earthquake Conference (NEC) brought together worldwide experts; inspired an immediate increase in financial support for earthquake safety research; and generated an ongoing, global dialogue
about challenges the U.S. faces with seismic risk. The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH), FEMA, and partners hosted the NEC on May 4 to 6 in Long Beach, Calif.
